Our Regular Programmes

Youth Development Programme

Ages 8–18 · Every Week · Sutton Coldfield

A safe, nurturing, and structured weekly programme for Hindu and Indian young people growing up in Sutton Coldfield. Sessions cover Dharmic storytelling, arts and crafts, physical activities, team games, and age-appropriate discussions about identity, culture, and values — helping the next generation stay connected to their heritage while thriving in British life.

Supported by Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council as part of our civic engagement and youth development work.

Community Sewa & Volunteering

Regular · Sutton Coldfield & surrounding area

Sewa — selfless service — is central to who we are. Sutton Parivaar CIC runs its own sewa projects throughout the year, bringing our community together in acts of practical, hands-on service for everyone in Sutton Coldfield, regardless of faith or background.

Our regular sewa activities include food bank donations, community litter picks, tree planting and green space care, and supporting local charitable events and causes.

Yoga, Meditation & Wellbeing

Regular · All ages welcome

Rooted in ancient Dharmic tradition, our regular yoga and meditation sessions offer members a space to nurture both physical and mental wellbeing. Sessions are open to all ages and abilities — from beginners to experienced practitioners — held in a welcoming community setting.

Alongside structured yoga, we explore breathwork, mindfulness, and the deeper philosophy of wellness in the Dharmic tradition.

Arts, Culture & Language

Regular · All ages welcome

Preserving and passing on our cultural heritage is one of Sutton Parivaar's core commitments. We run regular sessions in music (including tabla), classical and folk dance, and Hindi language learning for all ages.

These classes are about more than skills — they are spaces where our community connects with its roots, celebrates its creativity, and ensures that Indian culture and language are kept alive for future generations.

Senior Social Circle

Regular · Relaxed & welcoming

Our Senior Social Circle is a regular, relaxed gathering for the more experienced members of our community — a chance to come together, enjoy a good chat over tea, take part in a gentle yoga session, and simply spend time in warm company.

Life can be lonely, and we believe every member of our community deserves connection and belonging. All are welcome — bring a friend.

Annual Celebrations

West Midlands First

Dussehra Mela

1,000+ Attendees

Sutton Parivaar CIC, in collaboration with partners, organised the first-ever Dussehra Mela in the West Midlands — a landmark event that brought over 1,000 people together to celebrate the victory of Dharma. The event included cultural performances, a community fair, and stalls celebrating Indian heritage.

Diwali Celebrations

Our annual Diwali celebration brings the community together for the Festival of Lights. A family event in the true sense — children, parents, and grandparents celebrating together, with diyas, rangoli, and traditional festivities.

Other Cultural Events

Throughout the year we mark Janmashtami, Holi, Navratri, and other significant dates in the Hindu calendar — adapting celebrations to suit local families while keeping the Dharmic spirit authentic.
